Hussein Haji, Executive Chef

In April 2018, Chef Hussein Haji became the executive chef at the Calgary Marriott Downtown, the exclusive caterer for the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.

Chef Haji was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where his passion for cooking started at the age of 6 cooking with his grandfather. He graduated from  the Professional Cooking culinary arts program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT),  and then went on to graduate from the Hotel and Restaurant Management program as well.  Chef Haji has worked in the culinary industry for over 21 years and grew his career with the Calgary Marriott Hotel holding all positions in the kitchen. He has worked throughout Canada and the US assisting hotels openings. Chef Haji applies his many skills and experiences to preparing the best dishes possible for his guests.
