South Building

The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre’s South Building opened in 1974 – with former prime minister John Diefenbaker conducting the official opening ceremony – as the first full-service convention centre in Canada.

The innovative use of natural and engineered lighting creates a sense of openness that is conducive to productive meetings, captivating conventions and memorable celebrations. Architectural details that made the space popular when it first opened were preserved with subsequent renovations and technological upgrades.

The CTCC’s lower level houses the spacious and flexible Macleod Hall, four Macleod Meeting Rooms and a large pre-function area. Four large Chinook Meeting Rooms with a pre-function area occupies the main floor, while the upper level houses nine Glen Meeting Rooms.
