City Council has appointed two new members to the Board of the Calgary Convention Centre Authority (CCCA):
Bob Holmes, appointed in 2010, has been selected as the new Chair of the CCCA Board. His extensive background includes former Senior Vice President Planning & Capital Development, Calgary Health Region; former Deputy Minister, Alberta Municipal Affairs and former Planning Commissioner, City of Calgary. Mr. Holmes also served on the Board of the Calgary Convention Centre Authority and the (former) Calgary Tourist and Convention Bureau, now Tourism Calgary, in the 1990s.
Darren Demchuk, Senior Manager, Assurance Services with MNP remains as Audit Committee Chair and Brian Rogers, Q.C., of Rogers and Company continues as the Governance and Human Resources Chair.
Mr. Holmes noted, “I am excited to be working with our 2012 Board and management team. Everyone brings invaluable experience to the table which will assist in setting and executing the strategic goals and objectives for the convention centre.”
