Calgary TELUS Convention Centre Renews Partnership with Energy Cities Alliance

The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) has agreed to renew their partnership commitment with the Energy Cities Alliance (ECA). The four destinations, which make up the Energy Cities Alliance are: Aberdeen (Scotland), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Calgary (Calgary TELUS Convention Centre) and Perth (Australia). The partnership is aimed at supporting meeting planners looking to host successful world-class conferences.

At a recent board committee meeting in Abu Dhabi the Alliance focused on actions, which would take ECA to the next step and look at the tangible benefits and values offered to customers. The group will focus on all energy related business, which includes oil, gas, mining, renewable and future energy. The Alliance will also participate in energy related events, conferences and tradeshows.

The Energy Cities Alliance was officially formed October 30, 2007 with the following objectives:

  • Create a team who can support each other and enable strong growth in the international conference business
  • To give our clients the leading edge through the Energy Transfer Advantage: Lobbying support, delegate boosting, supportive global network, relationship building, marketing support
  • Lead exchange commitment of 5 leads per partner per year
  • Create a forum for addressing common issues
  • Demonstrate corporate social responsibility and share best practices
