We Calgarians like to think our city has it all. A mountain playground only minutes away. Fine dining. Dozens of golf courses. Music. Theatre. Museums. A dynamic business culture that is home to the second highest concentration of head offices in Canada. We can even claim more days of sunshine than any other major Canadian city. Come and see for yourself. We know you'll love it.
A Bit of History
Founded
in 1875, Calgary's population increased almost 400% in the five years
from 1906 to 1911 and continues to boast one of Canada's fastest growing
populations.
Attractions
Shopping,
theatre, galleries, symphony, ballet and a dazzling nightlife are within
walking distance. Spend a day at the zoo or an international-calibre
equestrian facility. Cheer on professional hockey and football teams.
Relax at a mountain resort. Travel back in time at a world-famous dinosaur
museum. Kick up your heels at "The Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth,”
The Calgary Stampede. Choose from hundreds of restaurants guaranteed
to suit every taste and every budget.
Accommodations
When you attend a Calgary TELUS Convention Centre event, you're connected -
connected to three four-star hotels. In fact you might not have to step
a foot outside for the duration of your stay - although we'd highly
recommend it.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Calgary International Airport is only 20 minutes from downtown and is no more than one stop
from every major city in the world. So whether you're flying or driving in via the Trans-Canada
Highway, you'll find that Calgary is a very accessible city.
